Built in Porrier, for the children of Porrier.

Foundation Sanite Jeanty Haiti started as a response to a need its founder saw up close, and it has stayed rooted in the same community ever since.

Our story

Founded by Judith Lucien, Foundation Sanite Jeanty Haiti exists to give orphaned and vulnerable children a home and people who care for them.

The foundation held its grand opening in December 2025. Two of the children in our care were living on the street, begging for food, before they came to us. Today they have a home, regular meals, and a place at school.

Our founder’s story

At six years old, my world turned dark. On New Year’s Day, I received devastating news: I had lost both my mother and my father.

Growing up orphaned is a tragic reality for a child. You may find the basic means to survive, but love, warmth, and affection are nowhere to be found. Far too many children receive no care at all, left alone on the streets.

Living through that pain sparked a burning purpose within me—I knew my mission was to transform the lives of vulnerable children. At just 14 years old, I started caring for motherless children. At 21, I adopted my first child, whom we tragically lost shortly after.

Today, our vision has grown into an operational shelter providing love and refuge to children in need. But our ultimate goal is to establish ten care centers across Haiti’s ten departments. Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders—and together, we can build a new Haiti.

Our mission

Foundation Sanite Jeanty Haiti is a registered 501(c)(3) Christian home and community mission based in Porrier, in the commune of Jean Rabel, Haiti. We exist to care for orphaned and vulnerable children through residential care, nutrition, education, and spiritual formation — and to extend that same care outward, to families across the surrounding community. Porrier is one of the most under-resourced regions of Haiti, and the foundation was founded out of a deep commitment to the country's children and families.

Our vision

Our vision is for every child in our care to grow up knowing they are valued, loved, and equipped — spiritually, academically, and emotionally — to build a better future for themselves and their community.

We believe a child's circumstances at birth shouldn't decide their future — and that caring for "the least of these" is a responsibility, not a favor.

Our faith

The foundation's work is carried out on a Christian foundation — worship, prayer, and scripture are part of daily life for the children in our care, alongside their schooling and chores.

1. The Bible

The inspired, authoritative Word of God, and the foundation for all we teach and practice.

2. God

One God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. Jesus Christ

The Son of God, who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and is the only way to salvation.

4. Salvation

A free gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works.

5. The Holy Spirit

Indwells every believer, empowering them to live lives that honor God and serve others.

6. The Church

The body of Christ, called to worship, make disciples, and serve the vulnerable, the orphaned, and the poor (James 1:27).

7. Human dignity

Every person is made in God's image and has inherent worth, regardless of circumstance, poverty, or family status.

8. Our calling

To care for orphaned and vulnerable children in Haiti with shelter, nutrition, education, and a Christ-centered home, so they know they are loved by God and by us.
